We're excited to share that MatrixOrigin has been recognized in the 2026 Gartner® Coolest Vendor Innovations in Data Management report — and we're proud to be the only China-based vendor named among the four companies recognized this year.
Enterprises have spent years building out data architecture and tooling. Yet the moment AI moves from pilot to production, the same wall shows up: their data isn't ready for it. Metadata is inconsistent, lineage is hard to trace, governance is manual, and AI agents end up starved of the context they need to act reliably. We built MatrixOne Intelligence to close exactly that gap.
MatrixOne Intelligence brings databases, AI workflow orchestration, agent runtime observability, and persistent memory together in one system — a reliable, cost-effective foundation for building AI applications on data you can trust. A few of the ideas we care most about:
- Deploy where your data needs to live.
That flexibility is deliberate — teams shouldn't have to choose between using AI and keeping control of their data.
- One unified foundation instead of a stack of stitched-together tools.
Structured data, unstructured data, metadata, and model access get a single home — and cost and quality stay visible in one place.
- Git4Data—Git-Style versioning for data, context and agent runtime.
In Gartner's words: "A copy-on-write versioning model brings Git-style semantics to datasets, agent context, and agent runtime, so AI agents can work concurrently on isolated data branches." The report describes this as "letting organizations scale from a handful of AI agents to thousands of production agents" That last part is the whole point: isolation and reproducibility are what turn agent pilots into agent fleets.
The report frames these innovations as part of a broader shift from analytics-centric architectures toward AI-native data management. We believe model capability has stop to be the bottleneck for enterprise AI a while ago. What's left is a data layer that can't tell an agent what it's looking at, can't keep one agent's work from colliding with another's, and can't reproduce either one a week later.
Being named in the Coolest Vendor Innovations is a milestone, but for us it's a starting line more than a finish line. As enterprises move from AI experiments to thousands of agents running in production, the demands on the underlying data infrastructure will only grow — more concurrency, tighter governance, stronger guarantees of trust and reproducibility. That's the future we're building for: a world where any organization, anywhere, can put AI to work on data it fully controls and can rely on. We're just getting started.
